What is behind the +?

For a few years, organisations have been adding letters to the ever-expanding set of initials but they always add a +. However no-one can tell us what the + is meant to represent. LGB International is writing to organisations to ask what they understand the '+' in LGBTQIA+ to represent.

LGB International submitted its response to the European Commission’s consultation on the Union of Equality: LGBTIQ Equality Strategy 2026-2030.
