Let’s Go Big!
Some of the speakers and organisers at LGB International panel sessions at Let’s Go Big, 2026
On Saturday 18 April, the UK’s LGB Alliance held its fifth conference in London, the biggest so far. It was an amazing event, especially for everyone attending for the first time. LGB International was there for our first time since we launched in September last year. We ran two sessions.
Meet LGB International panel
Our first panel, Meet LGB International, was a chance for conference delegates to meet people from other countries and hear what is happening. Speakers from Taiwan, Sweden, Colombia, Bulgaria and the USA talked about the way progress towards LGB rights is being threatened by the rise of gender identity ideology.
Our second session explored how we can help countries where LGB rights are far from achieved but where the new homophobia is making our equality harder than ever to achieve. Speakers from Mozambique, Pakistan and Bangladesh shared the reality and Renato Sabbadini, former Executive Director of ILGA, discussed where the global movement went wrong and how LGB International might play a part.
We laughed, cried and danced and went back to our own countries with renewed inspiration to fight against both the old homophobia and the new homophobia. Remember to check the membership page for your own country and get in touch if you want to start an LGB group.
